Ripudaman Bevli - Plogman of India: A Hero for Our Environment
Meet Ripudaman Bevli, a true hero making a big difference for our environment in India. Born on November 15, 1987, Bevli is not just a nature lover but also a person who cares deeply about keeping our surroundings clean and green. Before he started his mission for a cleaner India, Bevli worked with big companies like HCL Infosystems and Akamai Technologies. Later on, he switched to a job in sales at a startup called PacketZoom.
Starting the Ploggers of India Movement
In 2017, Bevli began the Ploggers of India movement, earning the nickname "Plogman of India." Plogging is a cool word combining "jogging" and "picking up litter," and it became Bevli's way of fighting against litter in India. His campaign, first called "My City, My Responsibility," changed to Ploggers of India, and it spread across the country to raise awareness about littering and the importance of keeping our surroundings clean.
Bevli didn't stop with just picking up litter; he wanted everyone to join in. He worked with schools and groups, teaming up with NGOs to talk about cleanliness and why plogging is essential. His efforts were in line with the FIT India Movement and Swachh Bharat missions, showing he cared about making a real difference.
Getting Noticed Nationally
In 2019, Bevli's hard work caught the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who invited him to talk about his efforts on the 57th episode of "Mann Ki Baat," the Prime Minister's radio program. Bevli also ran an impressive 1000 km across 50 cities for his 'Run to Make India Litter Free' campaign, with the grand finale attended by Kiren Rijiju in New Delhi on December 5, 2019.

Global Recognition and Awards
Bevli's dedication went beyond India. In September 2020, he became one of the first 100 Global Impact Citizens recognized by the Global Impact Network in the USA. In March 2021, Cosmopolitan named him the Social Media Activist of The Year 2020. He was also declared the Earth Day Network Star by Earthday.org in the same month.
Helping During the Pandemic
Even when times were tough with the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, Bevli started the "Plastic Upvaas" campaign. He wanted people to use reusable fabric masks instead of disposable ones to reduce plastic waste.
Ripudaman Bevli's journey from working in big companies to becoming the Plogman of India shows that anyone can make a positive impact. His creative approach to keeping our environment clean, along with his ability to get everyone involved, makes him a true hero. As an ambassador for the FIT India Movement, Bevli continues to inspire others to join the cause, making sure our country stays clean and green for a brighter future.
